When coach travel makes sense
Coach routes can be useful when rail fares are high, airports are inconvenient or a direct city-to-city service is available. Major European capitals and university cities often have strong international coach links.
Compare the full journey
Check departure station, arrival station, luggage policy, overnight timing and local transport at both ends. A low fare is only useful if the route fits the rest of the itinerary.
Combine coach with other transport
Multi-city trips do not need to use one transport type throughout. A flight into one city, coach to the next and rail home can be more practical than forcing every leg into the same mode.
