Why choose rail
High-speed and intercity trains can be especially useful on routes between neighbouring countries and major capitals. Stations are often central, making it easier to connect directly to hotels and local transport.
Good rail-trip structure
Keep individual legs manageable, avoid overloading the itinerary with too many one-night stops and leave enough transfer time when separate tickets are involved.
Rail and city breaks
Rail works particularly well for city combinations such as Amsterdam–Brussels–Paris or routes through Germany, Austria and Central Europe.
